The run down of the top programmes we use to create our fantastic designs and give you some helpful tips along the way.

Let’s get into it!

To create our designs we choose to use Adobe Creative Cloud. There are many other design programmes on the market that you can use such as Quark & CoralDraw but I just love all things Adobe.

The software is amazing, simple and user friendly.

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is essential a photo editor. This gives you the ability to create, enhance and edit images, artwork, or illustrations. Photoshop also gives a great platform for removing backgrounds and cropping objects you want to use in your design. Say for example you have a photo of a product but you don’t want that nasty background to show up, this is where Photoshop comes into play.

Adobe Illustrator

Illustrator is one of the most useful programmes you can ever have. This allows you to create drawings, illustrations and print ready artwork. We mainly use illustrator for adapting logos, redrawing images and creating logos. Illustrator is one of the most widely used programmes for graphic designers and can be used to create a wide range of print artwork. Say you have a logo but want to change the colours, this is the programme you will need. Not only will you be able to adapt the logo but you will also be creating a vector image, meaning no pixilation when enlarged.

Adobe InDesign

InDesign is essentially made for print ready artwork. This is ideal for creating business cards, compliment slips, letterheads, brochures… the list is endless! All our Designs are created using InDesign. I like to think of this as the build! Once you have created all your content through Photoshop and Illustrator, we then use InDesign to bring all the content to one place. Click, drop and place all of your images and text and adjust your layout. Once you have created your design it is time to export. Make sure you export your files with trim and bleed.
